A new era of tourism in Uganda…

Africa, Uganda   /

We’re thrilled to introduce the latest member of Naturally Africa Collection - Crystal Lodges Uganda!

Crystal Lodges Uganda offers guests two exquisite lodges – Gorilla Safari Lodge and Crater Safari Lodge, both with very distinct characters, whilst offering top quality service, good food, luxury accommodation and uniquely situated for primate tracking safaris.

Gorilla Safari Lodge

On the boundary line of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Gorilla Safari Lodge offers spacious and well-appointed cottages, providing the perfect setting to relax after a challenging and rewarding day of trekking.

All the cottages have solar-powered lighting, en-suite bathrooms and private verandahs providing beautiful views of the unspoiled tropical rainforest; luxury rooms also include a fireplace and bath. The lodge includes a restaurant, bar, lounge and campfire area, overlooking the forest.

The ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to a population of around 340 mountain gorillas; roughly half the number of these animals remaining in the world. Guests have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take fully guided treks into the dense rainforest to spend a little time in the close company of these fascinating creatures and peacefully observe them in their natural habitat.

Gorilla Safari Lodge is within just 5 minutes’ drive of the start point for trekking and groups found in this area of Bwindi include Nshongi group, the biggest ever troop of gorillas familiarised with humans.

Crater Safari Lodge

Crater Safari Lodge offers breath-taking scenery, exceptional comfort and unsurpassed opportunities for chimpanzee tracking and many other outstanding wildlife activities.

Blending perfectly with the landscape, the lodge is located in a beautiful spot on the rim of the Nyinabulitwa Crater Lake and just minutes away from the tropical rainforest of Kibale Forest National Park.

The lodge comprises ultra-luxurious cottages, equipped with en-suite bathroom, solar lighting and hot water, and internet access at the main lodge. Guests can relax in the lodge’s expansive lounge, restaurant and bar area with views across the lake and enjoy the facilities, including mobile spa, campfire area overlooking the lake and curio shop.

The area is perfect for walking trails to discover the surrounding nature and birdlife and visit the local communities. A number of half-day and full-day excursions are also possible from the lodge by car.
